Where there is road construction, there are also these motorized mannequins that wave their brightly colored sticks up and down to alert traffic - very clever because the motion catches your eye.

We stopped by the beach before the rain started coming down!





...yes.

We drove south for another half hour to have sugar cane shaved ice, where everything is made with sugar cane juice. Completely worth the drive. The flavors were subtle, but it was very good. The taro was especially good, and complemented the ice very well!

Tim did a fair amount of driving! Driving in Taiwan is a whole different beast!

We stopped along the highway on the way back at a little local restaurant, which ended up to be fantastic!

Along the way home, we made an unplanned stop at the Suao Cold Springs, a type of spring that is supposedly unique to only Taiwan and Italy. Along with checking out the springs, we also had access to various fun little features throughout the park!
