I spent the weekend on the East Coast for a family wedding, so I also took the opportunity to make my way through the tri-state area! I flew into JFK at 8:30pm eastern time, and after a couple very close transfers running through Penn Station NY and Trenton Transit Center, I made it down to Philadelphia at around 1:10am. Steph was nice enough to come out and meet me at the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia in the middle of the night, and after a quick dinner of sorts (Sammich for me, amazing ice cream from the tub for Steph, and cream cheese frosted sweet potato bread for err'one), knocked out for the night
The view out of the window when I woke up at around 7:30am - The weather was absolutely beautiful! It was actually COLD in the morning (Mid 60s!), so that was a very welcome break after leaving the heat in San Diego!

Breakfast at the Green Line Cafe (Hipster Coffee Shop #1):
Breakfast Burrito (Left) for me, and Sweet Potato Burrito (Right) for Steph - yup, she's obsessed with the sweet potato
Locust Walk, at University of Pennsylvania! Very beautiful!

The Quad

A replica of the actual statue... *awkward turtle*

I feel like I should know the name of the building after taking Urban Planning, but that was almost a full year ago, so I'm not even gonna try...

The real statue!
...
Why...
...
is the water green...?

No, seriously, the water is GREEN.

...and... she's mocking me...

From Wikipedia:
The Love Park fountain is often dyed colors throughout the year to commemorate or celebrate events. Regular colors have included:
- Pink - kickoff for breast cancer awareness month (annually in October)
- Blue - commemoration of police officer fatalities
- Green - in honor of the Philadelphia Phillies winning the World Series, Phanatic Green (October 29, 2008)
- Red - marketing event for Showtime's Dexter television series
We then proceeded to chase down the "Cupcake Carnivale" truck, which was in the City Hall!
Steph's (with the cherry on top) is a root beer float cupcake, and mine is a coffee toffee crunch! They were a bit small (especially compared to Heaven Sent), but they were quite amazing!
...aaaaannddd she's mocking me again in the bottom left.....

Random shot of the Philadelphia City Hall

As we were leaving city hall, we saw this fallout shelter sign...
I mean, I guess...?

This was a completely random shot, but I really like how it turned out!

View of the streets outside of City Hall

Pistachio Chai cupcake!

We met up with Steph's friend Eliana, and went to visit the guys' house! I was too lazy to take more pictures after this point...
After Steph went to work, Lucia happened to be free for a bit, so we went to Ramen Bar to give Steph a hard time (nah i'm not /that/ mean...) and to have a snack before I went to meet up with my cousin and uncle in Philadelphia Chinatown (for more food), and headed back up to New Jersey for the night!
Stay tuned for Part 2!
