When we went, it was really nice because we went RIGHT after the first snow, so there was not a LOT of snow but enough to create an amazing contrast between the white and the red / other rocks.
We based ourselves in Las Vegas because hotel rooms there were fairly inexpensive compared to other places... overall, a very good trip.
Stayed in THEhotel by Mandalay Bay

Caution: breakdancers ahead

This is pretty interesting...

The road was paved in red! o.o
see how the snow makes the contrast even more awesome?

melted snow on the windshield

brother and I took a quick hike behind where the tunnel was... we were 5 mins from the end but our dad was waiting in the car (couldn't find parking) and I didn't bring a jacket when i jumped out (and I left my gloves in my backpack in the room... fail) but it was nice all the same... didn't feel TOO cold with the sun and the continuous walking

Free dinner that night because they made a confusing mess with the free buffet thing for the night before :]
long story short, free dinner both nights xP
we had the "chinese" restaurant... the only thing that I thought was decent was the thousand year egg / shredded pork congee/jook
(pei dahn sou youk jook)

when going to the car after checking out... this car had 6 cameras trained on it!? o.o

we went to Wynn in hopes of seeing the ferarri showroom / etc but it was closed for thanksgiving... Wynn wasn't very win... it was all stuffy and closed... it definitely failed to impress me...

free coke at Pho for lunch :3
